Things to Do

Sparks Lake and The Deschutes National Forest

Picture of Sparks Lake and The Deschutes National Forest

Sparks Lake and The Deschutes National Forest is a mountain paradise! Around an hour away from Eagle Crest, the forest has a little something for everyone.

If you are wanting to do something active, thousands of miles of hiking trails are begging to be explored! Mt. Bachelor is open year round for mountain biking and hiking if you are wanting to check out our favorite ski area. Otherwise if you see a mountain, you can guarantee there is numerous trails all over it! Some of the hikes do require a reservation, so if you need help, please ask and we will be happy to assist!

If a relaxing day is in order, consider taking a trip up to Sparks Lake. The lake is nestled in the middle of the Three Sisters, Broken Top, and Mt. Bachelor. There is a day use area where you can start your activities. Bring a paddleboard, some sandwiches, and maybe a beverage and let the stunning views clear your mind!

Smith Rock State Park

About 25 minutes from Eagle Crest, Smith Rock State Park covers over 650 acres with breathtaking views of the Cascade range. Come rig your slackline, hike on the scenic river trail, or if you are up for a challenge you can rock climb over 100 different routes!

If you want the best view, you have to take the Misery Ridge trail... Keep in mind it has that name for a reason!

Sisters, Oregon

Picture of Sisters, Oregon

Sisters feels like a step back in time with its 1880s Wild West town vibe. Wooden sidewalks lead to boutiques, galleries, and restaurants, while an old-time drive-in serves homemade ice cream, just like it has since 1952. Public restrooms are marked for “Cowboys” and “Cowgirls,” and even the UPS store is called The Pony Express. While it has a frontier town charm, Sisters is also known for its vibrant arts scene, fresh dining, and family-friendly atmosphere.

Fancy a quick lunch? Sno Cap Drive In. Mouthwatering burgers and milkshakes in every flavor you could possible imagine.

Downtown Bend

Downtown Bend has a lot to explore and is right on the Deschutes River. Everything from delicious restaurants, a candy and toy store, to a ton of local shops selling everything under the sun! The parking is free (but can be crowded).

A few of our favorite places are: Bend Brewing Company, Clementine Urban Mercantile and Drake.

The Bite Tumalo

(541) 610-6457

Only a 12 minute drive from Eagle Crest, is The Bite! A collection of local food trucks and tap beer with partially covered outdoor seating. They usually have live music in the evening but is a great place to go for a quick lunch or a fun evening with the band!

Old Mill District

520 SW Powerhouse Dr #624, Bend, OR 97702, USA

If shopping is what you desire, the Old Mill District is for you! Although it is mainly the big name stores (Lululemon, REI, American Eagle, etc.) it is definitely worth the visit. Whether you need to do some last minute shopping before the wedding or want to take a leisurely stroll on the Deschutes River Trail to Bend Whitewater Park, it is a great way to spend the afternoon!

Some of our favorite places at the Old Mill District: Kara's Kitchenware, Cafe Yumm!, and Sister's Coffee Company

Miyagi Ramen

550 SW Industrial Way STE 102, Bend, OR 97702, USA

By far one of our favorite restaurants in Bend. We cannot recommend this highly enough. Order at the counter, pick a seat, and get ready for some of the best Ramen you have ever had. We make an effort to eat at Miyagi every time we come to Bend and trust us, it is worth it.

Maddie's order: Smoked Mushroom Hazelnut Ramen, substitute the tofu with Spicy Minced Pork

Evan's order: Spicy Miso Ramen with extra Cashu Pork
